🛒 Ingredients:
- ½ kg chicken (bone-in, cut into pieces)
- 3 medium tomatoes (chopped or blended)
- 1 large onion (finely sliced)
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2-3 green chilies (chopped)
- ½ cup yogurt
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp crushed black pepper
- 1 tsp cumin seeds (roasted & crushed)
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- ½ tsp garam masala powder
- ½ cup cooking oil or ghee
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander & ginger julienne for garnish
🔥 Instructions:
Step 1: Fry the Chicken
Heat oil in a wok (karahi) over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until golden brown. Add the chicken and fry until it changes color.
Step 2: Add Spices & Tomatoes
Stir in ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute. Add tomatoes, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt. Cook on medium-high heat until tomatoes break down and oil separates.
Step 3: Cook the Karahi
Add yogurt and mix well. Cover and let it cook for 10-15 minutes until the chicken is tender. Then, add cumin, black pepper, and coriander powder. Stir well.
Step 4: Final Touch
Add chopped green chilies and garam masala. Cook for another 2-3 minutes for an aromatic finish.
Step 5: Garnish & Serve
Garnish with fresh coriander and ginger julienne. Serve hot with naan, chapati, or steamed rice.
